APW - Illinois, "Montgomery Ward & Co." marked mvt and dial, 24J, 18S, nickel OF recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#1415139. This 24 jewel "Montgomery Ward & Co." marked watch is quite rare though its actual production figure is not known.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, two fine scratches to barrel bridge below jewel setting, few small fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with outer chapter hl at 9:30, some faint additional hls elsewhere, small flake at center to right of hands, some mild hand rub to seconds-register perimeter; excellent hands, seconds-hand tail with mild bend; case shows light wear, scattered fine scratches, small ding to band at 5, some scattered pinpoint nicks, moderate overall tarnish with few scattered darker spots; tight bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with few pinpoint nicks to upper perimeter.
